What are some things I can do to drive down my household expenses?

jimbo is right. Turning off the lights may sound obvious but a lot of wasted electricity comes from leaving the lights on in a room that no one is in. Also watch out for space heaters this winter. They can really drive up bills.

Seriously, I read that you can save like 50 bucks a month if you turn off one light that would otherwise be on.

C'mon peeps! Solar panel energy is becoming mainstream and there are major gov't incentives. They even make some that look like roof shingles so they blend into the style of your home. Easiest way to save a bundle. And let's turn off the water when we brush our teeth and take shorter showers.
